Refurb Remington Take Off .223 1-12" CM

Shilen 1-14 223 CM Medium Sporter

Contour - Medium Sporter
Length - 20 1/4"

Finish - Semi Matt (Matt Gun-Kote over a polished surface) Barrel was removed from Remington 700 - noticeable vise marks (wrong sized bushing was used) still visible below finish. The threads are still a little short so a shortened barrel nut is also provided:
Muzzle Diameter - 9/16"
Crown - Rounded Factory
Threads - Standard Savage threaded shank.
Description: This barrel started life as a pre-threaded short chambered 22/250 remington barrel. With its medium sporter contour it got too hot to touch after only 5 shots. There wasn't enough shank left to rethread for 223 and still put it on a remington so it was re-threaded for Savage. Shoots the WalMart 45 grain Winchester value ammo pretty good. Note that because of the slow twist it will not shoot the real heavy bullets used for long range matches.

Refurb Remington 6mm Medium Sporter - 19.25"

Description: Used sporter weight hunting barrel rethreaded for Savage standard thread. Tried it out as a medium cartridge that will feed properly out of a long action magazine. Pleased with the result but prefer a longer barrel for the type of shooting I do. Handles heavy bullets real well. The 6mm hits allot harder than the 243. - just look at the comparison of the cases here.

Douglas 6mm Refurb 22" 1-10 CM

Contour: Medium Sporter - no screw holes.
Finish: Semi Matt Epoxy.
Muzzle Diameter: 5/8 inch.
Description: This was a douglas 243 barrel that was shortened at the chamber end and re-chambered for 6mm Remington. The threads are a little short in that the barrel nut may extend past the end of the threads slightly. The above 5 shot group was with factory loads at 100 meters. I have developed some handloads that don't exhibit as much vertical stringing, but groups are still oval. This is more than good enough for hunting accuracy.

Shilen 1-10 6mm Varmint CM Barrel

Description: Started life as a prethread for Mauser 98. Never installed, rethreaded for Savage. Good accuracy as shown in the picture. Heavy barrel suitable for varmint or target work. THe 6mm Rem is a much better deer round than 243, but this barrel may be a little too heavy for carting through the woods. For a comparison of 6mm and 243 see here.

WILDCATTER - Ruger No. 1 Varmint Barrel, 224 bore, 1-14 twist. Setback and rethreaded for Savage.

Length = 22 1/2"
Contour: Varmint
Muzzle Diameter: 25/32"
Finish: Original factory blue, shows some wear. One inch before turned down to match major thread diameter.
Description: Got this Ruger No.1 2.250 barrel that seemed to have an almost pristine bore. I had it professionally rethreaded (gunsmith was Skaggs Gunsmithing) with an eye towards chambering it in 221 Fireball to go up against some of the Sako 22PPC shooters in my club. Illness and family problems have interceded to make projects like that seem not important enough for the time involved.

It is being sold here as a "wildcatter" so that a hobbyist without a lathe can hand chamber the barrel in a desired caliber. Would be suitable for any of the 22 centerfires, although with the slow twist and short Length it would be a waste to chamber it up in something like 220 swift or 22/250AI.
